Baptisms

Marc helped to prepare some baptism candidates over the course of 2019. On February 9th, the baptisms were held in a watering-hole near the village. What a wonderful occasion!

Things I will/won't miss

Things I won't miss about Benin:

The heat
The dust
The driving
The staring
The running after us (only kids but still)
Being woken by mice in the roof
Snakes and scorpions (though they weren't daily visitors)
Cold showers in cold season, hot showers in hot season
No freezer, and a fridge which was never very cold
The unreliable, often slow and sometimes non-existent internet connection

Things I will miss about Benin:

My friends
Our missionary family (many nationalities and ages)
The sun
My flipflops (and painted toenails)
Knowing the people I buy things from
Having clothes made to measure in bright material
Speaking Monkolé
